fabulous Noritake

It's been a very long time since I posted on my blog but I'm going to try and keep on top of it this year :o) with Facebook & Instagram I seem to have dropped the ball on my blog, but here goes....

I've been working with Noritake Australia for some time now and I just love working with their stunning products. Noritake are known for their great quality and they have a great mix of modern and classic designs in their range, something for everyone.

They needed some new publicity shots for some of their new cutlery ranges so I shot and styled these with the help of some awesome props I sourced locally.

Hope you love them as much as I do.

The Nutty Baker

The Nutty Baker came to the studio last week and wow what an array of delicious treats she has on offer. Nina Siljanovic left her career in investment banking to follow her passion for baking she has a commercial kitchen space in The Imperial Hotel in Paddington as a part of their Business Hub Initiative, bring the community back to Paddington local shops and restaurants.

Nina also offers group baking classes and supplies local shops and cafe's with her beautiful natural baked goods, there's no cheap nasty ingredients in these babies.

Nina is offering her delicious Mulled Wine cake and her Boozy Chocolate Christmas Cake (gluten free) along with her signature Amaretti and her amazing Rocky Road which are also both gluten free this Christmas. You can buy them at her online store, to collect or to be delivered across Sydney.

Happy Eating xx

La Danseuse

I got together with the gorgeous model/dancer Alex Brennan and a talented up and coming makeup artist Veronica Colvin to shoot some images I've had in my head for quite some time. Veronica also came up with a masquerade theme that she art directed so we both got great shots for our folios.
I really enjoy this type of creative work and I hope to post a few more interesting shoots I have in the pipeline soon xx

LEGO DUPLO - Advertising Campaign

You might remember some time back I shot the stills for the LEGO DUPLO Advertising Campaign, well I've finally got my hands on the finished art courtesy of Airborne Creative. I just love the challenge of shooting with children, they are so unpredictable, they can surprise, amaze and frustrate you, but the results are always so honest.

The shots really weren't hard to get because they just loved playing with the products so much. There really was genuine excitement about playing with the products. The biggest challenge was getting them to leave the rings facing to the front, as you can imagine they just wanted to move our carefully orchestrated set. You'll see the accompanying TVC on your screens at the moment too.

I'm shooting another project with Airborne Creative this week for AMF Bowling, can't wait to share it with you all soon

La Florista - Veronica Lopez

Few people have had a story like Veronica, she has suffered great loss in her personal life at such a young age, but she's dusted herself off & re-trained as a florist. Veronica has come out the other end with a fantastic little business to provide for her two young children. A sunny little boutique called
"La Florista".

After losing her husband to cancer Veronica had to give up her career as a flight attendant and focus on her second career floristry in order to be at home in the evenings for her children.

Veronica has trained with some of Sydney's best florists and has now decided to go it alone and open her own boutique,La Florista on Rothschild Avenue Rosebery is getting ready for it's grand opening in the next few days and Veronica is busy sourcing and filling her beautiful little boutique with gorgeous gifts, candles and homewares.

Over the following weeks she'll have her online store open for business and her gorgeous flowers on offer. It's well worth a visit, and I was lucky enough to be chosen to shoot some of the gorgeous bits that will be for sale on her site, the studio smelt amazing with all the soaps, balms &  drawer sachets here.

I wanted to share her story and some of the shots and encourage everyone to shop local and support these small Aussie business' as everyone of them has a family story.

Gypsy Makeup shoot

It's been ages since my last blog, I've been pretty run off my feet and my assistant has moved on, so I'm going solo for a while which makes it a bit hectic, but I'm happiest when I'm busy so that's a good thing.

I was speaking to a friend of mine who said her daughter was moving to Sydney to go to University. Brijahn is a stunning young woman, so I asked her mum if she thought she might be interested in doing some modeling test shots to start to build a portfolio.

We scheduled a basic shoot in the studio for an hour or so, just to get used to the whole process. The initial test shots were done in my studio with available light and a minimum of fuss. Brijahn was just so natural and comfortable with the whole process, never breaking gaze with the camera which shows a great maturity.

After the sucess of the first shoot, we talked about doing a subsequent shoot to build up some more shots for her portfolio. This time I arranged Hair, Makeup and wardrobe for a gypsy look that I thought she would carry off perfectly.

We also shot a timelapse movie of makeup application, which looks fantastic (see below)

I just love the outcome, and I've already had a client book her for a paid modeling job next week.
